Recently I shared on my Instagram that Nori had entered the “climbing phase” and how it was time to transition her to a toddler bed. As a first time mom, I had no idea that the transition would happen so quickly (I was fully expecting age 3 or 4). While Nori’s crib easily converts into a toddler bed, TJ and I decided we would instead purchase a new bed for her to grow with and save the crib for when we decide to try for baby #2.
My main goal was to create a space that she could grow into while also incorporating many of her current interests. The blush floral wallpaper from Anewall is the focal point of her room, so I picked out pieces that would easily flow with it. I went with whites, wood tones and rattan with touches of florals. I also chose an accent rug that tied in colors from her wallpaper. I was a little worried that it would clash, but it honestly made such a difference in brightening up this space. It’s so incredibly plush and well made. I also can’t get over the braided tassels! Hands down one of the softest rugs I’ve ever purchased
Nori has been really into imaginative play lately, so I knew I wanted to incorporate a little dress up corner in her room. TJ and I built this floating dress up rack which displays many of her tutu’s perfectly. I love using the shelf to store all of her extra dress up items such as necklaces, wands, and “princess” heels. I plan to share a blog post soon with details on how we built it!
You may notice that there’s no dresser in her room. We decided to donate her old dresser in order to save space. I moved all of her clothes into her closet and plan to covert it into a montessori-friendly space. I can’t wait to bring you along and plan to share more details about her closet makeover in an upcoming blog post!
Her room is pretty small so I didn’t want to go overboard with furniture. I stuck to the basics and incorporated special touches throughout her room. Nori is in love with her “big girl” room, so I consider this makeover successful! For those wondering, the transition from her crib to toddler bed went smoothly and we’ve had zero issues with her getting out of her bed during nap time/bed time *knocks on wood*.
As excited as Nori was for her new room, it was such a bittersweet feeling saying goodbye to her nursery. Why must they grow so quickly? Here’s to making memories in her new space ♡
+ I’ve linked most of the products, but if there’s something I missed, let me know in the comments below or shoot me a DM on Instagram. I’m happy to help!
(P.S. – The floral name ring above the bed was a DIY project).

Brooke

March 24, 2022 at 12:03 pmThank you so much! The rug is 6′ 7″x9′. I don’t recall where the doll chair is from, I believe Hobby Lobby? The floral wall decor piece was a DIY project. I purchased the supplies from Hobby Lobby! The coat hanger is from Target, however it’s sold out. Here’s a similar one: https://rstyle.me/+0KEsOEztsI26WefY6chIbw
