From the moment I found out I was pregnant, there were so many family traditions I couldn’t wait to experience. These rituals, whether big or small, would not only give us something to look forward to each year but also look back on later in life. Traditions played such a large role in my childhood that I couldn’t wait to create similar memories with my daughter.
Once the cooler weather arrived, we finally got a chance to experience our first tradition – Fall Apple Picking. Over the last few years, apple picking had become a tradition for TJ and I, so we were both excited to now be able to share this memory as a family of three.
We packed the car and made the trek to Charlottesville, VA to visit Carter Mountain Orchard. I wasn’t certain how Nori would do given the size of the crowd this time of year, but to our surprise, she loved every minute of it. Nori is at the age where she will attempt to grab for anything in sight. It was adorable watching her mimic us by reaching for the apples. I’m so grateful that we got a chance to create our first family tradition and cannot wait for many more to come.
